Projects, collections and tags
Organize your footage with projects, collections and tags.
On this page
cliply organizes footage in three layers: projects hold videos and the clip library built from them; collections are hand-picked reels for review and sharing; decks are the button boards that power tagging. Understanding these building blocks makes your library easy to navigate.
Projects
A project is a container for related videos and the analysis built from them — a season's worth of matches, a training block, or a scouting dossier. Projects have a simple lifecycle:
- Active — visible in the main projects list and open for analysis.
- Archived — closed projects you want to keep but no longer need at the top. Archive a project in one click from the project menu; unarchive it the same way.
Use the filter bar to narrow the list by status (Active / Archived), season, or search by name.
Projects without a custom cover get a colorful auto-generated cover seeded from the project name — no setup needed.
Plan limits:
| Plan | Max projects |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Solo, Team, Club, Enterprise | Unlimited |
The seeded demo project does not count against your limit.
Creating a project
Open the Projects section
Navigate to Projects from your org sidebar and select New project.
Name your project
Give it a name — "2024/25 Season" or "National League — Spring," for example. Add a sport and season to filter later.
Choose a deck
Pick the deck whose button layout matches this project's analysis needs. You can switch decks at any time from project settings without losing clips. See Decks & catalog.
Add videos
Upload footage or link a YouTube video to start the clip library. See Upload videos.
Tags & decks
Tags are the action categories — "Goal," "Press trigger," "Individual error" — that your deck uses to create clips. They are defined in your org's catalog and arranged into decks. All tagging configuration (hotkeys, colors, pre/post-roll, variants) lives in the deck builder.
See Decks & catalog for the full details on building decks, configuring tags, setting up variants, and managing reactions.
Collections
A collection is a curated, shareable, ordered sequence of clips — pulled from anywhere across the organization, not just one project — used for review sessions, pre-match briefings, or player feedback. See Collections and playlists for how to build, reorder, play back, and share one.
