Organizations and teams
How organizations, clubs, teams and members fit together.

An organization is the top-level workspace in cliply. It holds all your footage, projects, clubs, teams, players, and billing. Think of it as your private film room — everything and everyone involved in your analysis lives here.
Everything in cliply happens inside an organization. When you create your account, onboarding asks you to create one — with a name and a sport (football, futsal, basketball, handball, volleyball, rugby, rugby sevens, hockey, indoor hockey, rink hockey, water polo, tennis, padel, or other), which seeds a starter tag and event deck for that sport automatically. You can belong to multiple organizations — one per club or client, for example — and switch between them using the organization switcher in the sidebar.
What lives inside an organization
- Members — the people who can access the workspace
- Projects — collections of videos organized around a season, competition, or theme
- Clubs and teams — the institutional structure: clubs hold teams; players are assigned to teams
- Tags, collections, and clips — the analysis output
The organization switcher
The switcher lives in the sidebar header — click it to open a popover listing Personal plus every organization you belong to. Selecting one sets it as your active organization, clears cached data from whatever you were viewing before, and navigates you to that organization's dashboard. The same popover has quick links straight into the organization's Settings tabs.
Clubs and teams
A club represents an institution — your own club, an opponent, or any organization whose footage you analyze. Inside each club you manage one or more teams.
A few things to know:
- At least one team is required when you create a club.
- Teams are created and managed inside the club's detail view — open a club to add, rename, or remove teams.
- Players belong to the organization and are assigned to teams. See Players and clubs.
This structure lets you track a multi-team club (first team, reserve, U18) under one roof, keeping your footage and player data organized by the team that actually played.
Member roles
Each member has a role that controls what they can do inside the organization.

| Admin | Manage members and settings; cannot delete the organization |
| Member | Create and edit footage, clips, and projects; cannot invite or remove members |
| Viewer | Read-only: can still comment, react to clips, and create and manage share links; every other write action is blocked |
The person who creates an organization is automatically its owner. Ownership can be transferred to another member.
A viewer who tries a blocked action sees an error toast rather than a dedicated "read-only" banner — in practice a viewer simply doesn't see the edit controls a member or admin would. For example, in the members table a viewer sees a plain role tag next to each name instead of the role dropdown and remove menu.
Inviting members
Owners and admins can invite new members by email.
Open organization settings
Go to the Settings section of your organization's dashboard.
Go to Members
Click the Members tab. The invite form sits right above the member list.
Enter email and role
Type the invitee's email address, choose a role and press Send invitation. An invitation email is sent immediately and the invitation shows up under the Pending invitations sub-tab.
Invitee accepts
The invitee clicks the link in the email. If they already have a cliply account they are added immediately. If not, they can create an account from the invitation — no waitlist needed.
Organization settings
Open Settings — from the org switcher's quick links or the sidebar — to reach up to four tabs (Subscription and Credits only appear if billing is enabled for your org):

General: logo, poster, rename, delete
- Logo and poster/banner — upload images used across the workspace and on share links.
- Rename — change the organization's display name at any time.
- Delete organization — a danger-zone action available to owners. This is a soft delete: the organization is archived and its media reaped over time rather than wiped instantly. To confirm, you must type the organization's exact name.
A handful of features (Vimeo as a video source, for example) are switched on per organization by the cliply team on request or gradual rollout. There's no settings screen for toggling these yourself — reach out to support if you want an experimental feature enabled for your org.
Plan limits on members
cliply enforces a flat member cap per plan — not per-seat billing. If you're at your plan's limit, upgrading to a higher tier is the only way to add more members:
