When you sign up, cliply walks you through a short onboarding sequence: create your organization, get a starter deck for your sport, take the welcome tour, and work through the Getting Started checklist on your dashboard. This takes about five minutes.
Onboarding steps
Create your organization
An organization is your team's shared workspace — the container for all your footage, clips, projects, and members. Give it a name (your club or team name works well) and choose your sport: football, futsal, basketball, handball, volleyball, rugby, rugby sevens, hockey, indoor hockey, rink hockey, water polo, tennis, padel, or "other."
You do not need a payment method to get started — every new organization starts on the Free plan.
Get your starter deck
Based on the sport you chose, cliply automatically seeds a starter tag/event deck for your organization — the goals, cards, turnovers, and other events coaches in that sport tag most often. You get something usable right away instead of starting from a blank slate. See Decks to customize it.
Take the welcome tour
The first time you land in a new organization, a welcome tour modal opens automatically. It offers to create a sample match for you — a demo project with a sample video and pre-made sample clips and events already tagged for your sport — so you can explore the clip library, workspace, and deck before bringing in your own footage. It's entirely optional: one click on Yes, create the sample match and you're in, and Open the sample analysis takes you straight to it.
Missed it or closed it? Reopen the tour any time from the Quick guide link on your dashboard.
Work through the Getting Started checklist
Your organization's dashboard home has a persistent Getting started card with five steps and a progress bar. They unlock in order — a step you haven't reached yet says Complete the previous step first:
- Create a project — groups your matches
- Add a video — inside the project: upload a file or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link
- Tag a clip — the deck is your board of tags; in the workbench, every tag you press marks the moment as a clip
- Log an event — the match itself, opponent and score, under Events
- Share the video — from a video, clip or collection: Share, then send the link
Until you've added a real video, the card also shows a Try it with a sample match banner with a Create the demo button — the same one-click demo from the welcome tour.
When you're done with the card, Hide for everyone removes it — note that this hides it for the whole club, not just for you. A toast offers Undo right afterwards.
Bring in your first footage
Add a real video to start tagging. You can paste a YouTube link, upload a file, or start a live capture. See Upload videos.
Invite teammates (optional)
Organization owners and admins can invite members by email from the organization settings. Members join by clicking the link in their invitation email.
Choosing a plan
cliply's plans are Free, Solo, Team, Club, and Enterprise. Free lets you explore the core workflow at no cost. Solo and Team add capabilities for individual coaches and coaching staffs respectively. Club is built for clubs with high video volume and full-team collaboration, and Enterprise covers federations and multi-club setups. For the full breakdown of features and pricing, see Plans and pricing.
The Free plan includes live tagging, the clip library, telestration, playlists, and share links, for one project and up to five videos. You can run cliply's whole core workflow without a paid plan. Upgrade when you outgrow those caps, or when you need cloud uploads, more members, or AI analysis.
For current plan details, open the Subscription tab in your organization settings or see Plans and pricing.
