How credits work
What credits are, how they're spent and how to top up.

Credits are the currency for cliply's server-side work. Your organization holds a credit balance, and each request that runs on our servers deducts from that balance based on actual usage. Credits never expire.
What credits pay for
Three things spend credits:

Cutting clips in the browser from a file on your own device costs nothing — only work that runs on cliply's servers draws from the balance. A reel or zip re-concatenates clips that were already cut, so an export job charges its source minutes once no matter how many output variants it produces.

Where credits come from
Credits can come from your plan's included allowance or from separately purchased credit packs. The Credits tab in your organization settings shows your current balance, your transaction history, and available packs.
Buying a credit pack
Purchase a one-time credit pack any time from Org Settings > Credits tab:

Packs are added to your organization's balance immediately and never expire.
The Credits tab only appears if credit purchases are enabled for your deployment. If it's missing, that's expected, not a bug — contact support if you'd like it enabled.
Checking your balance
Your current credit balance is visible in the Credits tab of your organization settings. The same page shows a transaction history — purchases, usage, and any admin adjustments — so you can see exactly where credits went.
How a request spends credits
Before running the work, cliply checks whether your balance covers the estimated cost. If it does, the job starts and the actual cost is deducted when it completes. If your balance is too low, the request is blocked with an "insufficient credits" message — top up and retry.
AI match analysis and voice tagging need a plan that includes AI — Club and Enterprise. Server-side export comes with those too, and also with the Cloud add-on, which any Free, Solo or Team organization can stack on its current plan. The add-on grants no monthly credits, so its exports draw from purchased packs. See Plans and pricing.
