The editing timeline
Trim clips in place, snap cuts to what's around them, and fly around the match with zoom.

The timeline under the player shows every clip of the match as a labeled block — name, tag color, and duration at a glance. In Analyze mode it's a full editing surface; in View mode the same timeline turns read-only so you can present without accidental changes.
Reading the timeline
- Clip blocks carry the tag color on their left edge, the clip name, and its duration. Click a block to select the clip and play it.
- Match events (goals, period starts…) sit on their own thin row above the clips.
- Two arrangements: compact rows that pack clips side by side, or one lane per tag with labels on the left. Toggle with Option + R or the lanes button in the player bar.
- Hover anywhere on the track to see a frame preview with the exact timecode and the list of clips covering that moment.
Trimming a clip
Select the clip
Click its block (or its row in the clip list). The block grows pink grips on both edges.
Drag a grip
Drag the IN or OUT grip — the player scrubs the frame under your cursor while you drag, so you always see the exact cut point.
Let the magnet help
With the magnet enabled (bottom-right corner of the timeline), the edge snaps to nearby clip edges, match events, and the spot where you parked the playhead. Park the playhead on the perfect frame first, then drag the edge onto it.
The grips are keyboard-operable: focus one and use Left / Right to nudge by a tenth of a second (Shift for whole seconds), Enter to save, Esc to cancel. The classic I / O keys still retrim at the playhead too.
Zooming
- Option + Minus / Option + Plus or the player-bar buttons zoom the whole track, up to 64×.
- Option + Z zooms straight to the selected clip with a few seconds of context on each side — the fastest way to get from "found it in the list" to "trimming it".
- On a trackpad, pinch (or Cmd + scroll) zooms around your cursor.
While a video plays zoomed in, the view follows the playhead. Scroll away and it stays where you put it — it only snaps back when the playhead walks into your view again or you play another clip.
Editing everything else
Double-click any block to open the clip editor — rename, change the tag, adjust IN/OUT with a preview, variants, players and more. From the clip list, pressing E on a highlighted row opens the same editor.
If you swapped the project's video for a shorter recording, clips that now fall past the new video's end are kept and shown in a striped zone labeled "Past video end". Their footage isn't playable until you restore a longer source, but nothing is lost.
