GPS performance

Attach a Catapult One export to a match video and see each player's distance, sprints and load beside the video and across the season.

On this page

GPS performance puts the physical numbers from your wearables next to the match. Attach the Catapult One export to a video and each player's distance, sprints, top speed and load appear in the workbench, then add up into a season on the team and player pages.

Early access

GPS performance is available to organizations with early access, on the Solo, Team, Club and Enterprise plans. If you don't see GPS data in the video's … menu, contact support.

Attach a file

Export from Catapult

Export the summary with one row per player. It must include the all split — the whole session. A file with several splits per player and no whole-session row is refused, with a message asking you to export again with the "all" split. A file can hold up to 60 players.

Open GPS data

Open the match in the workbench, open the … menu and select GPS data. Choose the CSV. cliply reads it in your browser and shows how many players it found.

Match players to your squad

Each name in the file gets a Squad picker. cliply suggests a player and says why: Linked (you matched this name in an earlier import), Same name, or Same surname when the surname points to exactly one player on each side. Names the device slot prefixes with a number ("001 …") are cleaned up. Fix any suggestion, or leave a name as Not matched. A warning appears if two names point to the same player.

Attach to the video

Select Attach to the video. cliply confirms how many players were matched.

Every match you confirm is remembered: next week's file starts with those names already linked.

One import per video

A video holds one GPS import. Attaching another file replaces the previous one; the drawer reminds you of the existing import and its date. To take it off, use Remove GPS data in the … menu, or in the panel's menu. The match's totals leave the video and the season, and your player matches are kept for the next import.

Read it beside the video

Once a video has GPS data, the workbench shows a GPS tab with the number of players. In it:

  • Pick the metric to rank players by: distance, intensity (metres per minute), sprints, top speed or load.
  • Tap a player to see their minutes, km, m/min, sprints, sprint metres, top km/h, accelerations and decelerations, impacts, load and maximum heart rate where the file has one.
  • Distance, accelerations, decelerations and heart rate also appear broken down by zone, when the file includes the bands.
  • A player's row says "not matched to a player" if you left that name unmatched; import again to match it.

The season

Team and player pages add a Season · GPS panel, with a season picker and the number of matches that have GPS.

  • Team — a table of players with matches, minutes, km per match, km total, m/min, sprints, top km/h and load per match.
  • Player — their totals and per-match averages across the season: matches, km per match, m/min, top speed and sprints.

Only matched players count. Top speed is the season best, not an average, and m/min is measured over the time actually worn.

Who can do it

Importing and removing needs an organization role that can edit — a read-only Viewer can't. Anyone who can open a project can read its GPS data; a private project's data follows the project's access. Plans without the capability, such as Free, can read nothing new: the import is blocked with an upgrade prompt.

Limits

  • Catapult One summary CSV only; other vendors aren't supported yet.
  • One import per video, up to 60 players.
  • The file is read in your browser; only the per-player totals are saved, not the file itself.
