cliply lets a football staff tag the match in the browser, review build-up, set pieces and recoveries grouped by type, and send the clips to the squad by link. The deck comes set up for the sport and is editable, and you can start for free.

## What a football staff reviews and how it maps to tags

A football match is studied by phases of play and by set pieces. On your side the deck has "Build-up", "Attack", "Shot", "Goal", "Counter" and "Set piece". On the opponent side it has "Defense", "Turnover", "Recovery", "Save", "Set piece against" and "Goal against". Each key press creates a clip around that action.

Build-up can be reviewed on its own: "Build-up" collects how the team plays out from the back, and "Turnover" shows where it breaks down. Turnover and recovery work as a pair, so filtering both lets you look at transitions and what happened after each. "Counter" isolates your own quick attacks.

For set pieces, "Set piece" and "Set piece against" gather everything offensive and defensive. They are qualified with variants such as "Corner", "Free kick" and "Throw-in", so you can watch only the corners against and see how they were defended. Shots carry "Left foot", "Right foot" or "Header", and attacks can be placed by "Left flank", "Center" or "Right flank" to see where the team gets through most.

Match events such as goal, penalty, yellow or red card, substitution, offside, injury and period start and end sit on the timeline. See [Events](https://cliply.video/help/events).

The deck is a starting point: rename it, add or remove tags and change the shortcuts. See [Decks and catalog](https://cliply.video/help/decks) and [Antagonist tags](https://cliply.video/help/antagonist-tags).

## A match from start to finish

1. Create a project and add the video: a YouTube or Vimeo link, a direct URL, or a file from your computer. See [Upload videos](https://cliply.video/help/upload-videos).
2. Tag with the keyboard or mouse, live or after the match. See [Create clips](https://cliply.video/help/create-clips).
3. Filter by tag, for example every recovery or every corner against.
4. Draw on a frozen frame and build a collection with the plays for the talk. See [Drawing and telestration](https://cliply.video/help/drawing-telestration).
5. Send a [share link](https://cliply.video/help/share-links). Whoever receives it opens it in any browser, no account needed. It works well for sending each player only their plays.

[Live tagging](https://cliply.video/help/live) works on every plan, and you can record an offline session if the ground has no signal.

## Tactics board and presentations

The [tactics board](https://cliply.video/help/tactics-board) includes the football pitch, with pieces for two teams, free drawing and image capture. It helps explain a build-up shape or a set-piece routine. With [presentations](https://cliply.video/help/presentations) you combine clips, tactical animations and images in a talk.

## Which plan you need

Free allows one project and up to five videos. Solo, Team, Club and Enterprise add capacity. Current prices are on [pricing](https://cliply.video/pricing) and each plan is described in [Plans and pricing](https://cliply.video/help/plans-and-pricing).

## When cliply isn't the right fit

- If you need the full match uploaded to a server and kept there, that starts at the Club plan, or with the Cloud add-on on another plan. Otherwise the video stays on YouTube or Vimeo, or on your own device.
- If you need automatic position, distance or heat map data for each player from the video, cliply does not generate it. Drawing markers follow a player within a clip, but they are for explaining the play, not measuring it.
- If several people must tag the same video at the same time in the same workspace, that is not available yet.
- If your club already uses another tool, you can import its XML files, the format most video analysis tools share, and decide later. See [XML Inspector](https://cliply.video/help/xml-inspector).

## Try it with your own match

Open [/try](https://cliply.video/try), paste a YouTube match link and tag it in the browser, no account needed. To compare tools, read [How to choose sports video analysis software](https://cliply.video/blog/choosing-software) and [Analyze a YouTube match](https://cliply.video/blog/youtube-matches). If your club has other sports, see [rugby](https://cliply.video/sports/rugby), [field hockey](https://cliply.video/sports/field-hockey) or [handball](https://cliply.video/sports/handball).
