cliply lets a basketball staff tag the game in the browser, review pick and rolls, shots and rebounds grouped by type, and send the clips to the squad by link. The deck comes set up for the sport and you can start for free.

## What a basketball staff reviews and how it maps to tags

Basketball has many short possessions, and the analysis looks more like statistics with video behind it than a match summary. On your side the deck has "Offense", "Three pointer", "Two pointer" and "Fast break". On the opponent side it has "Defense", "Rebound", "Steal", "Turnover" and "Block". Each key press creates a clip around that action.

The type of offense is qualified with variants: "Pick and roll", "Isolation", "Post-up" and "Spot-up". Filtering by "Pick and roll" shows how the team handled it and how the opponent defended it. Twos are placed with "Paint" or "Mid-range", and twos and threes are marked "Made" or "Missed", so you can watch only the missed threes or the mid-range twos.

On the defensive side, "Rebound" takes the variants "Offensive" and "Defensive", and "Steal", "Block" and "Turnover" show where possession was won or lost. With "Conceded 2", "Conceded 3" and "Conceded free throws" you qualify what the opponent scored, and "Stop" marks the possession you shut down. That lets you separate which kind of shot you are giving up and how.

Match events include quarter start and end, foul, free throws, timeout, substitution and injury. Placing timeouts and fouls on the timeline helps you review what happened before and after each stoppage. See [Events](https://cliply.video/help/events).

The deck is a starting point: rename it, add or remove tags and change shortcuts. See [Decks and catalog](https://cliply.video/help/decks) and [Antagonist tags](https://cliply.video/help/antagonist-tags).

## A game from start to finish

1. Create a project and add the video: a YouTube or Vimeo link, a direct URL, or a file from your computer. See [Upload videos](https://cliply.video/help/upload-videos).
2. Tag with the keyboard or mouse, live or afterwards. See [Create clips](https://cliply.video/help/create-clips).
3. Filter by tag, for example every pick and roll or every turnover.
4. Draw on a frozen frame and build a collection for the team talk. See [Drawing and telestration](https://cliply.video/help/drawing-telestration).
5. Send a [share link](https://cliply.video/help/share-links). Whoever receives it opens it in any browser, no account needed.

[Live tagging](https://cliply.video/help/live) works on every plan. If the gym has no signal, you can record an offline session and assign it to a project later.

## Tactics board and presentations

The [tactics board](https://cliply.video/help/tactics-board) includes the basketball court, with pieces for two teams and free drawing. It helps explain a screen, a zone or a press break. With [presentations](https://cliply.video/help/presentations) you combine clips, tactical animations and images in a single talk.

## Which plan you need

Free allows one project and up to five videos. Solo, Team, Club and Enterprise add capacity. Current prices are on [pricing](https://cliply.video/pricing) and each plan is described in [Plans and pricing](https://cliply.video/help/plans-and-pricing).

## When cliply isn't the right fit

- If you need the full game uploaded to a server and kept there, that starts at the Club plan, or with the Cloud add-on on another plan. Otherwise the video stays on YouTube or Vimeo, or on your own device.
- If you need automatic positional data for each player from the video, cliply does not generate it. Drawing markers follow a player within a clip, but they are for explaining the play, not measuring it.
- If several people must tag the same video at the same time in the same workspace, that is not available yet.
- If your club already uses another tool, you can import its XML files, the format most video analysis tools share, and decide later. See [XML Inspector](https://cliply.video/help/xml-inspector).

## Try it with your own game

Open [/try](https://cliply.video/try), paste a YouTube game link and tag it in the browser, no account needed. To compare tools, read [How to choose sports video analysis software](https://cliply.video/blog/choosing-software) and [Analyze a YouTube match](https://cliply.video/blog/youtube-matches).
